Not too long ago, I came to a realization about my “brotips” segment. The estimable @ChocolateChoux helped me realize that all of you are more interested in improving your own play in StarCraft 2 than hearing about how I’m trying to improve mine. Therefore, I’ll be modifying Brotips posts in future.
I’ll still be basing what I write on my own struggles as a player, and may post links to replays of my own games where I have seen issues with specific areas of my play. However, from now on each Brotip will be a short article on a specific issue: common build order mistakes, grevious timing errors, bad tech transitions (like switching from air to stealth, bad idea!), forgetting to mine Vespene Gas for 10 minutes, building Immortals when your opponent is going Muta/Ling… I’ll draw imspiration for the article from my mistakes, but try to make it applicable to any player of the race I write about. Most of these tips will probably relate to Protoss, since I’m trying to learn to play them at the moment, but I do have a few Zerg articles planned already.
I hope that this segment will be somewhat unique in the world of SC2 blogging, since I won’t be looking (most of the time) at overall strategy. Brotips will be focused tips, directed at specific things that players can implement or attempt to avoid immediately. I have to say, I’m pretty excited about where this is headed.

In addition to narrowing down the focus of the Brotips, you could post them as a corollary to your normal breakdown entries. Sort of a #TIL thing.

That is kind of my idea. However, I’ve been essentially practicing on improving my Brotips format. I should have some more broadly focused articles coming out shortly after my next Brotip!
